MSC Student | UBC
Alison Luo
Alison completed her Honours Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Biomedical Engineering with a Computing option from the University of Waterloo. Her experience working at a women’s health start-up inspired her to pursue graduate studies in the field at the University of British Columbia. As a graduate student in the Talhouk Uterine Health Lab pursuing a Master of Science in Women+ and Children’s Health Sciences, Alison is improving epidemiological risk models for endometrial cancer by integrating environmental exposure and genetic predisposition data. She hopes her work will lead to targeted interventions that optimize resource allocation, enhance prevention and early detection strategies, and potentially facilitate the establishment of endometrial cancer screening guidelines that would target high-risk individuals before prognosis worsens.
